About the project
Almost three years ago, I decided to go on an educational adventure. Having worked in the English education system, which is undergoing reforms in the name of 'keeping up with top performing systems', and having read about some of these as part of my masters research, I became very interested in what was happening in these countries.
So I decided to go and have a look, and spent 3-4 weeks in schools in each place, talking to teachers, watching lessons, and in some cases, teaching myself. The project is self-funded (I saved on rent by living with my lovely parents for a few years) and therefore I'm not beholden to any organisation, so my blog is my own opinion.
So far I have visited:
Canada (British Columbia and Ontario)
I am now back in the UK where I am writing a book about my findings. 'Cleverlands' will be published by Unbound in December, 2016. For more information on the rationale behind this project, see my first blog - The rationale for my education expedition.
